It rarely happens, but today Fion and I were practicing at the same time. She was downstairs playing Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid on the piano, and I was in my room playing Folk Dance by Beethoven on the cello. After awhile she knocked on my door, came in with her little plastic white chair, then sat listening to me play. I am always surprised how little it takes for her eyes to widen with excitement. “It is so good!” She exclaimed. “Can you play Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars?” “No, but I could play Mary Had a Little Lamb.” She nodded and I played for her. Then she clapped and told me it sounded amazing. I don’t believe there could be a better audience.

I showed her Beethoven’s cello sonata no. 5 on youtube. It was a duet between piano and cello and we agreed we’d get practicing so eventually we could play together. “But I think your talent is being nice and knowing how people feel,” she said. “And yours are kindness and humor,” I told her. I like that we could include these things as talents. We are very talented sisters indeed.

*She is a very pretty girl, just in case the photo indicates otherwise. But she’s so goofy all the time, i think this photo captures her spirit quite well.
